CUNNINGHAM MAN OF THE MATCH

KEY SAVES ALLOWED THE STORM TO HOLD ON TO A POINT

Santa Clarita, California- Kyle Cunningham Storms Man of the Match in Storm's 1-1 tie vs Valley United SC.  Cunningham with another stellar game as he faced 9 shots on goal and stopped 8 of them.  With three key saves that preserved the point for the Storm.  
In the first 45 minutes of play, the game was all even with a goal for Valley United, who struck first in the 32nd minute by Kyle Garcia. Three minutes later while on the attach Storms Striker Christian Esnal was fouled from behind in the penalty box. The storm was awarded a penalty kick and Esnal took his own and that brought the Storm even as the first 45 ended.
 
Coming on to the second half Valley United was all offense and with a combined effort of the Storm Defense and the Outstanding performance of Kyle Cunningham, it stayed even. 
In the 46th minute Valley United's Sagon Barkawl, came down the right side and got passed the Storm defense and with a shot the looked to be a possible tiebreaker Cunningham came up big with a dive to the right side and got enough of his hand on the ball to push it to safety.  Six minutes later in the 52nd minute after the Storm was on an attack of its own, Valley United managed a counter-attack and came up the left side and go a direct shot off on the ground that brought Cunningham off his line made a quick sliding save that cleared the ball out of play. 
Then in the last minutes of the game Valley once again on the attack from the left made a shot in the to the just outside the goal putting  Cunningham in the air to punch the ball out of bounds. 
Cunningham is no stranger to honors as he was the UPSL Starting IX  Goal Keeper for last Spring season. 
See Kyle in action April 20th Saturday as the Storm will take on LA Wolves who are just behind the Storm on the UPSL Table with 7 points 3 behind the Storm at the time of this article. Santa Clarita will face the Wolves on Saturday April 20th in a 6:00 PM kickoff at the Glendale Sports Complex.
